Protein Hot Chocolate is a healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth in the colder months! It's made with only 4 simple ingredients and has a rich chocolatey flavor. Plus, there's about 20 grams of protein per cup!
Store leftover full fat coconut milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for coffee creamer. You can also freeze it in ice cube trays for smoothies!
If you find it's not sweet enough, try blending in 1 medjool date or add in a tablespoon of your sweetener of choice. (Maple syrup, coconut sugar, or Lakanto Goldmen Monkfruit are all great options!)
To get the perfect consistency, blend the hot chocolate on high for 30-45 seconds.
A great way to add extra protein is by using a scoop of unflavored collagen protein. Ancient Nutrition Unflavored Multi-Collagen Protein is my favorite! There's about 10 grams of protein per scoop.
Full fat coconut milk tends to separate in the can, so give it a good shake or stir well before pouring.
How to Store Leftovers
If you make a double batch, you can store leftovers in a mason jar in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. To freeze, I suggest pouring into an ice cube tray to add to a chocolate smoothie!** See full post for more information!
